Mālō e lelei and Pacific greetings to all our Pasifika Graduates,
You are probably aware that all the upcoming Massey graduation ceremonies have been cancelled in response to the spread of the COVID-19. Any gathering of more than a 100 people is now banned. These decisions have been made with the health, safety and wellbeing of the whole nation in mind.
This must be a very disappointed news for you and your families given that you have worked so hard to reach this achievement. Please note that our Pasifika@Massey staff feel the same but be assured that we are so proud of you all. You have shown diligence and commitment throughout your study and we know that your achievement will serve to inspire others in your families and communities to follow in your steps to higher education.
We would like to continue our tradition of acknowledging your success through our Pasifika@Massey Facebook page. Please send us a photo so we can create a post that recognises your qualification. Please contact Ma’a, our new Pasifika Engagement and Marketing Executive - firstname.lastname@example.org.
We congratulate you on reaching this major milestone and wish you the very best in your life-long journey. Pacific peoples come from very tough backgrounds. The old saying holds true in times like this; “When the going gets tough, the tough gets going.”
Please do not hesitate to contact us via our Facebook page if you have any questions.
